Reflections: Winter Wonderland
The science behind photography consists of the different colors in each photograph, how the colors are displayed, and how the light of these particular colors behaves. The particular image I captured is contrived and serves to demonstrate colors and light through a local Christmas lights display. To produce this image, I utilized my iPhone 11 Pro Max camera. Additionally, I used the portrait mode in my phone camera. The particular aperture I used for my photograph, is around f/4.5. Using this particular f-stop and the portrait mode feature allowed me to focus more light on the center of the photograph which are the Christmas lights reflected off the car. To contrive my image, I captured the field of view in the side mirror of my car while going through the lights. I also implemented the stage light portion of the portrait mode feature. This blacks out the background and focuses all the color and attention on the center of the image. To understand the colors of my photograph, it is essential to understand that colors exist in a spectrum. Each color is portrayed through numerous pixels from red to magenta and green to mint. Lastly, it is pertinent to understand the science behind the light reflection. Reflected light bounces off a surface, hence why the colored lights are reflected off the black exterior of the car in my image. Overall, these are the physical concepts my image depicts.
